Source: The obituary is from a collection by Fauniel Hershberger, saved the 1950's, 60's and 70's. She was a life long resident of Fountain County Indiana.  The collection is now housed at Crawfordsville District Public Library.

COVINGTON — David V. Holcomb, age 69, of Fifth St., Covington, died at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Danville, Ill. He had been a patient there a month. He was born Jan. 30, 1899 in Vienna, Ill., the son of Benjamin and Anna Bellamy Holcomb. He had been an auto mechanic and was a veteran of Army services during World War II. Surviving are: one brother, Benjamin of Toms River, N. J.; and four sisters, Mrs. Lettie McBride of Olmstead, Ill., Mrs. Katherine Wallace and Mrs. Lois Weberle, both of Cairo, Ill., and Mrs. Anna Wilson of Fairfield, Ill. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Friday at the Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home here. The Rev. P. J. Hamilton, pastor of the United Methodist Church of Covington, officiated. Burial was in the VA Cemetery in Danville.  --waw
